If you’ve been keeping up with me as the children’s author of the Danny the Dragon series, you’ve probably heard me talk about the new Danny the Dragon CD, which is soon to be released, containing a reading of Danny Meets Jimmy by a talented vocal artist followed by a compilation of ten original classic songs by up-and-coming composers. What’s great about the CD is that, as with the book, it can be enjoyed by people of all ages—the young and the young at heart. What’s even better, though, is the fact that the proceeds are going to a cause which is near and dear to my heart in my research and humanitarian efforts, a cause that you may not know much about—raising celiac disease awareness.
Aside from my role as a children’s author, many of you are also aware that I am an avid supporter of Celiac Disease Research and that I am very involved in a major project to gain government support for the only auto-immune disease which the government does not support. Why? Because the drug companies and pharmacies do not make money off of this disease because the simple solution is to abstain from the gluten in their diet.
Be sure to listen to my November segment on the Thrive in Balance radio show, to be aired tomorrow, Monday 9 a.m. PST/12 p.m. EST, all on the topic of Gluten-Free and Celiac Disease! (As many of you know, I’m a staunch supporter of raising celiac awareness)
As many of you know, I write for a variety of publications. I am a featured columnist for the National Foundation for Celiac Awareness (NFCA), and much of what I write is beneficial for parents!
This is a lovely “thank you” card sent to me from a child that had attended one of my fun and exciting monthly Gluten-Free Cup Cake Parties, generously sponsored by Pamela’s Products and Nature’s Food Patch in Clearwater.
The St. Petersburg Times recently ran an announcement about my Gluten-Free Halloween Cup Cake Party in the “Food File Calendar” located in the Taste Section of the newspaper! Thank you to the Times!
Boy oh boy, Danny has me busy folks. There is so much happening and such wonderful people reaching out to us to come to schools, events, hospitals and venues. My books are spreading out there and landing in some lovely venues for sale. Thank you everyone!
As many of you know, our August Gluten-Free cupcake party was a smashing success! So by popular demand I will be hosting a Gluten-Free “Halloween” cupcake party, to be videotaped and used to raise funds and awareness for the Celiac Disease Center at Columbia University Medical Center.
I will have a live interview with the wonderful Joanie Winberg on her radio show the evening of Wednesday August 5th at 6PM. We will be covering some interesting statistics regarding kids, reading and the family. The approach in which Joanie interviews is delightful and I know you will want to listen, especially you moms. The title of her show is “Single Again, Now What?” Do not be misled as this show is for EVERYONE and the subjects we are covering are for anyone who cares about family, motherhood and our children. You do not have to listen but if you could care less about any of those topics, well I am dearly sorry for you.
