I will have a live interview with the wonderful Joanie Winberg on her radio show the evening of Wednesday August 5th at 6PM. We will be covering some interesting statistics regarding kids, reading and the family. The approach in which Joanie interviews is delightful and I know you will want to listen, especially you moms. The title of her show is “Single Again, Now What?” Do not be misled as this show is for EVERYONE and the subjects we are covering are for anyone who cares about family, motherhood and our children. You do not have to listen but if you could care less about any of those topics, well I am dearly sorry for you.
Here is a little sneak preview to my readers. I am about to be in a video supporting two wonderful companies. One is a well known gluten-free company and the other is a terrific non-profit gluten-free company which raises awareness about gluten free as well as research. Besides this, I get to use anyone else in the videos I want! Audition time again. We will all be wearing these delightful home- made aprons and Danny will be on the front of them too. Some say we should sell them eventually but there is also talk about many more videos so we shall see.
I will be interviewed in a casual setting on Lynn Serafinn’s Garden of the Soul radio show about what it is to be a children’s author and the influence that children’s literature has on our children for their current life as well as their future. We will also discuss the importance of a parent’s time with a child in reading, spending quality time with our children and more. Lynn and I had a lovely conversation this past week to prepare for her show and I know you will all be very pleased with what is ahead. Please tune in on August 5th 1PM eastern time at http://www.blogtalkradio.com/Lynn-Serafinn. You can listen to the show at any time on “demand” (after the broadcast).
On Sunday, 12-2 Eastern time, on WOR News Talk Radio 710, HD Pauline Frommer the daughter of Arthur Frommer congratulated me for my Book Tour with Danny the Dragon. Thank you Pauline! As you know, I love your show and listen to it every Sunday while I write and take notes of all your tips and hints of travel you and your father share. This show is syndicated to over 100 stations across the United States with thousands of listeners.
To bring you up to date I need to share with you the wonderful experience I had at St Joseph’s Children Hospital of Tampa Florida along with Borders Bookstore. I arrived to an incredible group of children and some with their families by their side. These kids were “eyes wide open” as I read “Danny the Dragon Meets Jimmy”, to a variety of children sitting and lying down, whatever made them comfortable. They had an upcoming fund-raiser which I donated a piece of furniture from my furniture line (Which I am no longer selling). Borders had accumulated boxfuls of books to give out to the kids along with Danny stickers and bookmarks. If you want to have Danny come to your school, hospital or library, just let us know!
Very exciting news that a short commercial is being made to promote Danny the Dragon and my tour as the author. I was told it will be up and out the first week in August. This is terribly exciting news for us all here in the “Danny Team”.
The CD’s music has been chosen and auditions for the voice to read “Danny the Dragon Meets Jimmy” are about to start. We have plenty of talented women biting at the bit to get in on this one, as you can imagine. Stay tuned!
