School Library Journal Praises Danny the Dragon
It is with great pleasure that I read the encouraging review of Danny the Dragon Meets Jimmy in School Library Journal. I am fortunate to have been recognized by many awards programs for this first book in the Danny the Dragon series, but what an honor it was to receive SLJ’s stamp of approval!

Read My Interview on BFKBooks.com
I’m honored to have been interviewed by Vicky of BFKbooks (http://bfkbooks.com), formally The Bookfiend’s Kingdom. BFKbooks features book reviews, exclusive interviews with authors, and the opportunity to buy books.
Vicky asked me all about my Danny the Dragon children’s book series, my background, and my passion for raising awareness for celiac disease, an autoimmune reaction to gluten, a protein found in wheat, barley, and rye.

Getting the Kids to Listen: Danny the Dragon Author Offers Some Tips
I was sent this lovely article written and published recently after a brief interview
by reseacher and writer Robert Bell.
I thought I’d share this with all of you
It’s time for dinner and you’ve called to your children three times so far to turn off the TV and come to the table to eat. You start using threats of coming into the living room yourself to turn off the television, to ban TV for the rest of the night, or to eat their dinners for them, but they still don’t come. Sound familiar?

Hard copy illustrations have arrived!
GREAT NEWS! The shipment from Latvia arrived! Took long enough – that’s for sure… but the box and it’s valuable contents were totally unscathed. Sent an email to Aija to let her know, and she replied to tell me that she had been praying for one week straight, in the hopes that the shipment would arrive safely…well that explains why I hadn’t heard from her at all during the prior week!
Still awaiting the illustrations
Sent an email to Aija and she doesn’t seem too concerned about the illustrations getting to me. She seems pretty confident about the security of the package – although I can somehow feel that she too is a bit concerned about the shipment getting here. Well, being concerned is a trait that sometimes we can’t ignore.
Nearly completed on the characters
Well we’ve been going back and forth quite a bit with various tweaks and changes, but we’re definitely making progress – very exciting indeed! And to think, this is all being done through a computer – haven’t ever spoken on the phone still!
First draft sketches
The first draft sketches of the characters and scenes are here! Marvelous! A few changes, questions and requests and we are moving along.
The characters are really coming together
We’re now really moving along with emails going back and forth to get the characters just right. Many of the other tiny details besides the characters themselves are coming up.
