Author Tina Turbin’s Generous Donation to Altrusa International
I was recently provided the opportunity to contribute to the reputable organization Altrusa International, a strong volunteer group that is working to better the community worldwide. As part of Altrusa’s many local programs, I’ve donated copies of Danny the Dragon Meets Jimmy, to be gifted to the lucky “Birthday Child of the Month” of the given month, along with Danny-themed goody bags! Danny the Dragon to bring joy to kids in Victoria, Australia
Much devastation was caused by the Victoria, Australia wildfires of February 2009, including the loss of the children’s book collections at the local libraries and schools. Through the hard work of authors, writers, concerned citizens and the coordinated efforts of the Society of Children’s Book Writers & Illustrators (SCBWI), the book collections have been re-built as a result of generous book donations from around the world.
