Danny the Dragon to bring joy to kids in Victoria, Australia
Much devastation was caused by the Victoria, Australia wildfires of February 2009, including the loss of the children’s book collections at the local libraries and schools. Through the hard work of authors, writers, concerned citizens and the coordinated efforts of the Society of Children’s Book Writers & Illustrators (SCBWI), the book collections have been re-built as a result of generous book donations from around the world. (Above: Photo of Corinne King of SCBWI Australia holding some of the book donations) I am very pleased to have been able to donate a copy of Danny the Dragon Meets Jimmy to the …
Author Tina Turbin – interviewed on the “Garden of the Soul” radio show
Yesterday it was a pleasure to be interviewed on Lynn Serafinn’s “Garden of the Soul” radio show. We talked about the “Danny the Dragon” book series and my overall intentions to inspire kindness and friendliness as well as healthy eating and dietary awareness in children; and we also delved into such important topics as the ways in which authors, parents and teachers can use literature to spark positive change in our children, and much, much more. A highly insightful show that I hope you will listen in on. Please let me know your thoughts and feedback! Visit the following link …
Author – Tina Turbin’s Schedule
Many people ask me how I get so much done, what my schedule is like and do I ever sleep. First of all, yes I do get sleep. As a children’s author, writer and researcher I am very creative and the urge I feel to create is truly unlimited, has no bounds at all. If I am tired it can slow me down a bit but not totally, to be honest. I am constantly creating new things for the moment and the future in my writing and things all around me continuously inspire me towards new ideas. I am also …

If your child is having trouble in school, you may want to try homeschooling for a little bit to get him caught up for his grade level, and then see at that point what he wants to do. Every child is different. Some …
Busy with the development of other projects
Good to go – the shipment arrived. The first exhibit is tomorrow in New York. Even though I can’t make it for the event, because I’m working on the development of other projects with my assistant Rosie Newman, we sure can’t wait to hear the response.
The books are beautiful
I opened the door this afternoon to a pleasant surprise. A nice big shipment of books! And they’re beautiful. Now it’s time to make sure that Combined Book Exhibits gets their shipment. Well, back to my phones!
Good news about the books!
Everything is going to be okay on the books. The printer has been very accommodating! I can’t wait to get more copies in the mail.
The books have arrived and so have the puppies
I had a small shipment of books arrive already. What a Holiday gift to finally see these in person! We finally settled on names for the puppies. Darn it took awhile: Bailey and Teddy (Bear).
