Danny the Dragon “Meets Jimmy” is the DVD adaptation of the award-winning first children’s picturebook in a widely beloved series. The full color images from the story about a child’s first encounter with a curious and friendly dragon are enhanced with a sign language interpretation by Carol Downing of Blossom Montessori School for the Deaf, making Danny the Dragon “Meets Jimmy” thoroughly accessible for hearing-impaired children as well. Danny the Dragon “Meets Jimmy” is a delightful, gentle, family-friendly DVD story especially recommended for public library children’s collections. 12 min.

Congratulations Tina on your successes! My 13-year-old daughter is a member of a school group for kids who like to read called The Pagemasters Club (cute!) and they volunteer on a weekly basis at an elementary school reading to kids. She brought in her brother’s copy of Danny the Dragon Meets Jimmy and apparently the kids really liked it! Then she donated the book to the school. Anyway, just thought you’d like to hear that!
Thanks Tina for your awesome series. I’m so happy to see that you already have such a variety of products other than just the book in both paperback and hardcover. Kids love a variety of media and I think it’s great that you’re supplying them with exactly what they’re interested in!
We liked the DVD. Funny, the kids were thinking it was going to be a cartoon or something and they were really looking forward to seeing a Danny the Dragon cartoon. So if you ever want to make an animated movie or show sometime you’ll at least have the Leery kids dying to see it!
This is a particularly great publication. I read their California Bookwatch and regular Bookwatch every month. I want to submit a review of my own sometime too! Your Amazon reviews are also wonderful, too! That’s always important to me when I’m buying a book or anything as a matter of fact.
The Midwest Book Review is always good for an informative, concise and impartial review of all sorts of books, not just mainstream but also independently published books. I highly recommend it for people looking for some fantastic books you may not otherwise hear of in publications like The New York Times Book Review or other similar publications. The fact that they’ve reviewed Ms. Turbin’s book so favorably is an indication of the quality and breadth of their review.
Hi Tina I’m really happy others are enjoying your DVDs. My kids have really gotten into learning ASL after we had a deaf child move into the neighborhood (she has since moved though) and I bought them a collection of materials with sign language–lots of books and some DVDs. When I heard about the Danny the Dragon Meets Jimmy DVD being available with sign language I was so excited and knew my kids would love it. They love to watch it on a regular weekly basis and it’s helping them expand their ASL vocabularies. I highly recommend this DVD to others even if you have hearing children because it still has a great reading of the book and also your kids will probably love to learn ASL!
