I recently visited the Blossom Montessori School for the Deaf and had a wonderful meeting with Julie Rutenberg. What an amazing woman! Despite not having children of her own, she created 1 of 2 Montessori schools in the United States that services deaf children, children from deaf parents or deaf siblings. The school is currently closed to others that don’t fit into the above demographic, however next year they will be opening to the general public. In the meantime, much needs to be done to create public awareness about the school. Stay tuned for more information on this as well as an upcoming Danny the Dragon reading that I will be doing.
KidsMisdiagnosed.com is up!
The Kids Misdiagnosed website is still in development and I am thrilled to say I will be one of the contributing writers.
Danny the Dragon’s first newsletter is all set to go out this month. So much to share! We are on a roll! Stay tuned.
Composers Submit Music for Danny the Dragon CD
Last week the many submissions came in from so many talented composers, for the new Danny CD. I can not say much about it at his time but we are using only new up and coming artists, to help them known a little and get their music out as well. It has a dual purpose in that it will be raising money for a Cause of my choice.
Reading Danny the Dragon to children at Spring Valley in Palm Harbor, Florida
I am so happy about this day. I was honored to conduct a reading and question and answer session at a school named Spring Valley in Palm Harbor, Florida. The kids loved the book and all the gifts I brought. The school was given their signed book by me, Tina Turbin. I really can say an author touches the lives of others in a very special way. I hope I inspired some “soon to be” authors in the school today. Thank you Spring Valley! Spring Valley is a Sudbury School and they base their education on trust and ability of the student to follow their inner guidance. and passions. The atmosphere at this school is evident that this is absolutely applied. The kids were calm, interested and had “natural” manners with one another. A delightful day! Thank you Diane Ballou , all educators and kids at this wonderful school.
Danny the Dragon at the London Book Fair
I am so pleased to share the news that my Danny the Dragon is now sitting on a shelf in the prestigious London Book Fair! The books were shipped over there awhile ago and today I already received an e mail from someone who saw the book and wants to talk about further marketing. Also the music is coming in from the composers for the new Danny the Dragon CD! The representative for Danny over there will be sending me the list of people inquiring about Danny for my assistant and me to contact. By the way, my assistant, she is a dream and such a dear friend!
Danny the Dragon had another successful event in New York
Belated results to you from me, Danny did extremely well at the NY State Reading Association function… lots of new projects in the works as a result of the response.
Recipes being well developed!
I found a great store for purchasing my cooking and research supplies. This is definitely going to help in the creation of more recipes, both for the Danny the Dragon cookbook and the Gluten Free website. Keep an eye out for some terrific recipes to be posted weekly on the Gluten Free site.
Scheduling book readings in the schools
I’m taking a break from Danny the Dragon today and allowing my assistant to get to some work on Danny, while I handle much needed backlogs on calls to get some more “readings” for Danny in the schools, with or without these puppies.
Danny the Dragon is in New York today
It’s the big day in New York today. Danny the Dragon is officially at the NY State Reading Association event. Today I’m in my studio (almost everyday) working and also in my kitchen (not far away from the studio) whipping up some more recipes.
It was great at the Celiac Walk!
The Celiac Walk was great! Made some wonderful new friends, learned more to share on my Gluten-Free Help website, and shared some “Danny” news. Overall we really had a terrific time. Now it’s time for a good foot soak – my feet are in need!
