Nikki’s Hurricane Adventure, Part 1: An Amazing Story, A Delightful Children’s Book, An Important Cause

I so admire authors who have an important cause to get behind. That’s why I had such a rewarding experience reading and reviewing Nikki’s Hurricane Adventure by Kevin and Laura Sanchez, the story of real-life Nikki the cat who was lost 85 miles from her Louisiana home while her family was evacuating for Hurricane Gustav and found her way home all by herself months later!

Find out more about Nikki’s story and purchase the book here:

Stay tuned to hear more from me about Kevin and Laura’s inspiring cause!

Aw sounds like a great story and you’re right it’s so cool when authors and artists donate a significant portion of their proceeds toward charities.

The illustrations look great on the cover. It’s too bad we can’t preview it but I’ll take your word for it and pick up a copy. Thanks for the recommendation. I’m always looking for fun children’s stories. There are soooo many out there that you just don’t find in the bookstores but they’re such great books!

I think books like this are the best, but they’re very rare to come by–the totally inspiring true story. Also I love that the proceeds go to support a good cause. This sounds like a special book and I look forward to reading it and sharing it with my children.

Wow. I just absolutely cannot believe this story!!!!! I told my family all about this at dinner and they were so fascinated that we bought the book, which we rarely do. We love to know that our money is going to a great cause and we also just want to say very well done, Nikki!

Just wanted to say that I ended up getting this book and thoroughly enjoyed it. My kids have started playing a new game around the house too–Nikki the Cat! Where they act out being Nikki and going through her adventures. It’s sooo cute!
