Library Visits with the Kids—Some Helpful Tips

There’s nothing like good, old-fashioned visits to the library to get your kids interested in reading and encouraging them to become avid readers themselves.      You can start bringing your children to the library as early as infancy—around six months of age, or when they start to become interested in looking at the pictures in books. Make sure your baby is well-fed and well-rested before your trip so he’ll be able to enjoy himself and you’ll find it easy to keep his attention on the books you’ll show him. For infants and toddlers who are still interested in putting any …

This question perhaps can’t be easily answered, as delightful children’s books come in all shapes, sizes, and varieties, but it’s worth taking a look at it.      Even …

Future plans to visit Latvia

I received an email that totally brightened my day! Aija basically told me how working with me has been like no other experience that she’s had and how she loved it! Needless to say, we have plans in the future to meet each other and we’re both looking forward to it!

Still no word from Aija

I still haven’t heard back from Aija, but I’m sure there is much happening in Latvia that I have no clue about over here in the States.

I can’t reach my Aija

I’m a bit concerned because for the life of me, I can’t reach my Aija! I haven’t received an email response back from her for a while now.

Aija doesn’t speak a word of English

I am back in Florida again. Interesting news. Aija does not speak a word of English. This could be a problem. I guess we’ll have to see how everything works out. In the meantime, I’m going to have a phone conversation with her translator (which I just found out she has) to figure out the next steps.

Found my illustrator: Aija Jasuna!

This is another HUGE development in my children’s book journey – Aija from Latvia is the star! She absolutely hit the nail on the head. She captured the essence of 2 of the characters in just about the same way I had envisioned them. The illustrations are truly magical. So now we’re talking up a business deal.

Illustrator in Latvia

I’m back! I’ve been busy with all kinds of projects and more research – I’m truly excited about what I’m doing. Regarding my search for an illustrator: one person’s name definitely stood out today: Aija Jasuna. I contacted her and she’s willing to send me a sketch of how she envisions my text and descriptions. She’s based out of Latvia (Europe). This could be interesting.

Very exciting projects

I’m still putting all kinds of time into locating THE perfect illustrator – that’s my biggest priority – so I may not be back here for a while. It’s time to focus my attention on this project, while simultaneously working on a few other exciting things and doing some traveling throughout the next few months.
