A plush toy named Danny
Since we had such a successful debut at the Toy Fair, now I’m talking with my team about making Danny into a plush toy…the possibilities are seemingly endless! This is another idea that I’m setting aside though for the moment. For now, Rosie and I have other projects to handle.
The Toy Fair is going to be huge!
Wow – the American International Toy Fair is not to be under-estimated, this is a huge one! As much as I want to be there though, just don’t want to do it – NY is way too cold for me.

Great to be in the Florida sunshine again
It was a white Christmas indeed! I hope everyone else had an incredible holiday. So good to be back home, basking in the warm Florida sunshine. Time to get an update on the status of the books and the site!
Glossy or matte?
I had two choices on the book’s finished look today: glossy or matte. I chose matte… I’m very close to giving the book the “go-ahead.”
Excited to receive the hard copy illustrations
Still in the process of getting the book printed, but I forgot to mention here – I’m awaiting a most important package to arrive from Latvia: our original hard copy illustrations and my disks. I am so excited to see the illustrations in person! According to Aija, should get here in about 2 weeks or less.
Ready to send the book to press
Chris is an absolute dream! He really helped me with arranging the design elements and with laying out the specs. according to the printer standards. Plus he created various images I am using for promotional purposes! We’re ready to send this off now. We are done.
Time to do the layouts
Next step: getting the book to the printing company…so close to being finished! I’ve enlisted the help of graphic designer Chris Colby to help me do layouts. He comes to my house and we sit side-by-side as we work for hours day after day, laying out all the text, choosing the font and arrangement of all the details. The phones are at our ears and we are just on a roll!
Heading back to LA soon
My husband and I flew back to Medford to continue the trip, and then we will head back to Seattle in 2 weeks for the service. I am just not too into this trip anymore, so we are driving back to LA. I want to be around my kids and get back to work.
