I had a small shipment of books arrive already. What a Holiday gift to finally see these in person!
We finally settled on names for the puppies. Darn it took awhile: Bailey and Teddy (Bear).

I’ve made some excellent contacts that are interested in getting Danny the Dragon into some exciting Festivals and Book Shows! I also had an interesting 5 emails that went back and forth between myself and an agency in London. Well, that turned out to be a real waste of my time.
Well now that I’ve hit the official holiday months, things are starting to get very, very busy between my various holiday projects, the printing of the book and all kinds of other ventures… a bit whirl-windy lately, but fun! Picked up our two puppies – a little female and male.
Wow, I’m still just wild about the illustrations… and I’m marveling again at how wonderful it is to actually see all of these ideas that have come to fruition. I am so pleased!
GREAT NEWS! The shipment from Latvia arrived! Took long enough – that’s for sure… but the box and it’s valuable contents were totally unscathed. Sent an email to Aija to let her know, and she replied to tell me that she had been praying for one week straight, in the hopes that the shipment would arrive safely…well that explains why I hadn’t heard from her at all during the prior week!
I had two choices on the book’s finished look today: glossy or matte. I chose matte… I’m very close to giving the book the “go-ahead.”
Sent an email to Aija and she doesn’t seem too concerned about the illustrations getting to me. She seems pretty confident about the security of the package – although I can somehow feel that she too is a bit concerned about the shipment getting here. Well, being concerned is a trait that sometimes we can’t ignore.
Okay so now I’m getting a tad bit worried – still haven’t received the package from Latvia! These are my original copyrighted illustrations and if something were to happen to them…well that’s just not going to happen. I need to call the printer again.
The printer understands that I need full creative control on this one and I’m being provided samples as needed…every day we’re closer and closer to the finish line.
Our two Maltese puppies (that we’ll be getting soon) were born a few days ago. We have about 8 more weeks until we pick them up. I will be taking them to libraries, schools and hospitals to help me with reading Danny the Dragon to children.
I checked out the printer’s layout for the book – not exactly what I wanted. We’re currently going back and forth a bit.
